FCCA SAT Program - Speed, Agility, Technical

Overview

In 2009, FC Carolina Alliance developed the FCCA Speed, Agility & Technical (SAT) program to improve FCCA players confidence, speed, power, agility and technical abilities. The SAT program has been designed for FCCA Academy, Challenge and Classic level players as a supplementary training session through the fall and spring seasons. SAT classes are free to FCCA members.

Program Goal

The objective of the FCCA S.A.T. Program is to provide FCCA players with the necessary instructions, so they can technically master the soccer ball which will provide them with the confidence they need to play faster/smarter in practice & games.s.

Program Philosophy

By increasing foot - eye coordination through technical ball work and repetition, we will look to build muscle memory and proper technique which increase speed of player and educated decision making.

Program Description
The SAT program is offered in the fall and spring seasons over an 8-10 week period. Each 1.5 hr SAT class is comprised of an intense 45 minute session on speed and agility and an intense 45 minute technical session.

SAT classes focus on the following key areas:
  •  Physical dominance - stop, start, acceleration to
  •  maximize speed.

  •  Power and Balance - lateral, linear agility and dynamic
  •  flexibility.

  •  Neuro-soccer development - increased foot/eye
  •  coordination.

  •  Technical mastery of the ball - muscle memory and proper
  •  technique.

Homework

In order to technically master the ball,  players will be expected to perform the exercises and drills demonstrated during the SAT program 5 days per weeks for 30 minutes per day. The SAT program is designed to provide players with the necessary instructions so they can become technically proficient.

It is up to the player, though, to master those instructions outside of the sessions.

Amateurs practice till they get it right.

Professionals practice until they don't get it wron
